Have nt posted for a real loooooooooong time .i will lyk to talk abt my eventful orientation camp . de so called "mission" for our camp is to obtain de Nagarro , which means "a spirit materialised" and our spirit will b de rafflesian spirit of passion pride n power .btw my class was 1D.we started off with mass activities at bishan park we had fun with activities lyk de "the great wall" , "mine field" n "tug of war" , which all require team spirit , communication n strategy.next on , we went to design our totem which signify an identity for all classes. then there was de batch song . de batch song is a song tat was passed down frm de secs4 to secs1 every yr, which means there r 3 batch songs.we felt a sense a togetherness as we rounded our arms ard each other as we chorused our batch song.along de camp , we moved as a batch with de rafflesian spirit of "1 for all , all for 1" which meant tat de spd of de entire batch is equivilent to de spd of de slowest peron in de batch .at nite , there was de armageddon.we moved as a class frm stops to stops as unitedly as we cleared de round together. we went for bath at abt 10+. then there was supper n debrief n we slept at abt 12+.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
de next day was another hectic one.we started off with de trust walk . de sec 1s all took off their shirt n used it to blindfold themselves . then we form a line with hands on each other 's shoulders.only de 1st person was guided by a PSL (peer support leader) . we moved ard de sch with trust on our fellow classmates as we passed messages down de line.finally , we accomplished de mission.during noon , we were given clues to reach checkpoints as a united class ard de WHOLE bishan . we were then to clear de round.we worked 2gethern suceeded too.nite , we sat ard 2gether to watch a horror movie ( it rox to watch as a batch !).we then toured ard de sch n de PSLs told us ghost stories abt tat place n we were asked to accomplish a task there .after tat , we then had our bath , supper n debrief b4 sleeping at 12+(again).zzzzzz
next day , we had a morning exercise with push-ups , sit-ups n jumps , shouting 1raffles , 2raffles, 3raffles etc.then we had a morning jog to bishan park for a war game. we started with a search of a total of 140 ropes hidden in de grass as a class .we could challenge each other along de way. we would bet on a no. of ropes n de loser will hav to giv de oppenents de no. 2 members frm each team had to stuck a sock on their backs n de class r to hold hands in a line . they had to grab thier oppenents sock b4 their oppenents grab theirs. but in de midst of de game , if de line was broken , de opposing side wins .then , de 15 classes r grouped into 3 teams n there was a base 4 each team.each team is colour coded.each team had to use thier ropes to design a " spiderweb" there will b attackers n defenders. all attacker r to stuck a sock on their back.once their sock is pulled out by another attacker , they will b sent to pits of death . 5 members of de teams r to there to complete a task so as to revive de attackers. but if de attackers entered de opponent'sbase without being caught by de defender , they hav de privelage to demand a rope frm de opposing side for their team. but if they r caught by a defender , then they will b sent to de pits of death. de "war" was fun as ri filled bishan park with enthusiasm.we all learnt to cooperate n sacrifice .in de evening , we had a camp finale with games n celebration n oso songs frm our very owm ri band ! de best was when they sang a rocked version of our batch song . all rafflesians stood up with arms ard each other's shoulders n jumped along with de rock song. then we went home , tired but very sastified as we were all proud to b a RAFFLESIAN !we had obtained de true spirit of Nagarro......
